Bella (I) is Back!

It looks like our Bella(I) has been returned to the Sacramento SPCA and is available for adoption again. Bella is a 6 year old Bulldog that has the energy of a puppy. She is also very intelligent and learns quickly. We fostered her until March 13th and were so excited when she was adopted within hours of being available for adoption. Don't know the reason she was returned but it couldn't be her fault. She barely had time to get used to her new home, let alone learn the rules. Whomever does adopt her, they will not be disappointed. Bella will respond very well to a little guidance and give them so much more in return. Please, if you know someone who would love a companion with energy and personality tell them about Bella.

UPDATE: Bella has been adopted, again. This is her fourth adoption. Please, lets make this her last adoption and give this sweet girl a forever home.

Sometimes fostering can hurt.

Last Friday was bitter sweet. We woke to a lethargic cold puppy, that was not eating. Another puppy was also not eating. She, at least, was moving and warm. Rushing to Sacramento SPCA we picked up formula and a bottle to feed the puppies. Unfortunately, a few minutes into feeding this cold little puppy, he past away in my hands. I had to go to my daughter's wedding later that day. Gloria stayed home and continued to bottle feed the other puppy. The wedding was wonderful, seeing these two people who are so in love, starting a great new chapter filled my heart. At the wedding I made a fool of myself hugging my family.

Today, Sunday, after 2 days of bottle feeding this tiny girl, she past away in Gloria's hand. We both could not be more heart broken. Our poor mama, Bella, is looking all over for her two missing puppies. She has one left. Fortunately, he seems to be a fighter and is twice the weight of the first two, at about 6 ounces. He still has a tough battle ahead. His mama, Bella, does not seem to be producing much milk. She has kennel cough, too. Needless to say we are keeping a close eye on both of them.

It has to get better.

Bella will be with us for maybe 5 weeks and the puppies will with us at least until they are 8 weeks old.

Bella the Bulldog.

This is Bella. A 6 year old Bulldog mix and weighs 38 lbs. We were told she is recovering from kennel cough. However, I think she is recovering from the kennels. The first day (last Tuesday, February 24th) she would not stop running. It took her a couple of days to calm down. She is much better now. Although, she still loves to keep moving. Cannot believe she is 6 years old. She acts more like a puppy. Loves to chew on almost anything. She and Buster (he is 2 years old) play until they drop.

She is incredibly loving. One of her favorite things to do is lean into you and lick/nibble on your neck and ear. If you let her, she will put a paw on each shoulder and just nibble your ear. She is very smart and knows her name and some simple commands. Loves to go for walks. She really wants to please and be with you.

UPDATE: Bella will be available for adoption late today (3/13/2015) at the Sacramento SPCA. Please, help this very sweet and loving dog find her forever home. She will reward her family with lots of love and licks.

UPDATE: OMG! We were driving home from dropping off Bella at the SPCA and Gloria told me that Bella had been listed on the web site (2:30PM). We thought that was very fast. NOW at 4:45PM it appears our Bella has been adopted. That is the fastest any of our fosters have been adopted. Well someone has a wonderful new family member with loads of personality. Congratulations Bella.
